Crowns & Bridges | St. George, Utah
Every crown and bridge I place is made in the USA, at one of the finest dental labs anywhere. No exceptions, no shortcuts.
A lot of offices quietly send their crown work overseas to save money. I never have, and I never will.
Every crown, bridge, and restoration I place is made right here in the United States, at a lab I consider the best in the world. That choice costs me more. It is worth every penny, because it is the difference between a restoration that fits, matches, and lasts, and one that was mass-produced to a price.
The Basics, Simply
A crown is a custom cap that fits over a tooth that is damaged, weakened, cracked, or cosmetically imperfect. It restores the tooth's shape, its strength, and its appearance, so a tooth that was failing can look and work like a healthy one again.
A bridge replaces one or more missing teeth. It anchors to the healthy teeth on either side of the gap and fills it with natural-looking replacement teeth, fixed in place so nothing comes out.
Both do the same fundamental job: they take a mouth that has a problem and make it whole again. The difference between a good one and a great one comes down to how precisely it is made, which is exactly where the lab matters.
The USA-Made Lab Promise
Here is something most patients never think to ask: where was my crown actually made?
Many dental offices send their crown and bridge work to overseas labs, because it is cheaper. What you do not see is what that can cost you. Longer waits. Far less oversight of how the piece was made and what went into it. And quality that varies from one case to the next.
I made a different decision a long time ago, and I have never once regretted it.
Every crown, bridge, and denture I place is made at a lab I genuinely believe is the finest in the world. It is based in the USA. It receives cases from all over the globe, and its work is featured in dental textbooks written by some of the most respected names in the profession. I have tried many, many labs over the years, and I always come back to this one. Other labs constantly tell me they can match it or beat it. They never come close.
What that means for you is simple and real. A crown that fits precisely the first time. Color and shape that match your natural teeth so well that no one can tell. And a restoration built with premium materials to last, not to hit a price point.
I will not tell you the lab's name. That is our little secret. But I will tell you your crown is made there, by hand, in America.
Recognized for Exactly This Kind of Work
Crowns and bridges are the heart of a field called prosthodontics, the discipline of designing and fitting restorations. It is worth knowing where my training in it stands.
I graduated Cum Laude from Creighton University Dental School. I was ranked number one in clinical skills in my class, and I was named the top student in Prosthodontics, which is to say, the best in my class at precisely this kind of restorative work.
I mention it not to collect praise, but because it is directly relevant. Prosthodontics is the exact discipline that governs crowns, bridges, and restorations. Being recognized as the best in my class at it means the skill behind your restoration is not incidental. It is where I have excelled since the very beginning, and I have spent the decades since refining it on real patients.
Precision in this work is not a luxury. A crown that is off by a fraction leads to problems down the road. Getting it right the first time is the entire job, and it is the part I care about most.
Materials & Options
Not every tooth needs the same material, and choosing well is part of the craft.
Zirconia is my go-to for most cases. It is remarkably durable, and most labs back it with a no-breakage guarantee, which solves a problem that plagued the older porcelain options for years.
Porcelain fused to zirconia gives you that durability plus outstanding esthetics. For a tooth that needs to be both strong and beautiful, it is as good as anything available.
E.max has its place for certain cases, though I specify it less often, because zirconia has simply proven so reliable for my patients.
Which one is right for you depends on where the tooth sits, how much force your bite puts on it, and your cosmetic goals. That is a decision we make together, and it is one I take seriously, because these are meant to last a lifetime.
How Long They Last
I make these to last a lifetime, which is genuinely possible with today's materials and the lab I use.
I stand behind my work. It is not a printed certificate on the wall, it is a standard I hold myself to. Because I use zirconia, which is guaranteed by the lab not to break, breakage is very rare, and if it ever happens, we redo it at no cost to you. More broadly, if I ever see, on an X-ray or otherwise, that work I did has a flaw, I replace it. No charge, no argument.
My whole focus is on doing it right the first time, so that these questions rarely come up at all. That is the point of the USA-made lab and the extra care. Fewer repeat visits, less risk, and a restoration you can stop thinking about.
Most crowns are completed over a couple of visits, because the restoration is custom-made at our USA lab for the best possible fit and appearance. We will walk you through your specific timeline at the consultation.
The area is fully numbed, so the procedure itself is comfortable. And if you feel any anxiety about it, this can be done under IV sedation, so you are completely at ease.
Yes, a bridge can replace one tooth or several in a row, anchored to the healthy teeth on either side. At your consultation we will look at whether a bridge or an implant is the better long-term answer for you.
Absolutely, and many patients choose it, especially when there is a lot of work to do at once.
If you have a tooth that needs a crown, a gap that needs a bridge, or old work that has let you down, come see what a properly made, USA-crafted restoration looks and feels like.
The consultation is free, and there is no obligation.
